How Transportation Can Unlock Economic Development

This initiative created an opportunity to learn about the neighborhood where the Obama Presidential Center will be located and provided visions for transportation and unlocking economic development.

CCAC members participated in a three day sprint and unveiled their visions for enriching the existing community.

Project Scope

The project goals included:

  • Enhancing Woodlawn as a destination

  • Improving transit and mobility 

  • Catalyzing sustainable economic development

  • Engaging the Community

Work Product

This Initiative outlined ways to synthesize institutional, city, and community goals to drive cultural, economic, infrastructural, community, and ecological development throughout Woodlawn. The CCAC team identified Woodlawn's assets, isolated the neighborhood's over-arching issues, and created a proposal to enrich Woodlawn's legacy of as a connected, vibrant, and resilient neighborhood. Learn more about the CCAC's proposals by reading the full presentation below.
